steven page Steven Page On Barenaked Ladies Reunion

Former Barenaked Ladies frontman Steven Page recently gave his thoughts on whether or not he’ll return to the band in the near future.

In a recent interview with CTV News in Canada, the co-founder of the Toronto-based band known for hit singles like “One Week,” “Brian Wilson,” and “If I Had a Million Dollars” said he has no plans to return to the band after leaving in February 2009.

Page has since been busy recording and releasing his first solo LP, entitled Page One, which came out back on Sep. 28. Page said in the interview:

[photogallerylink id=29931 align=left]“I never thought, ‘Oh, I wish I was in the studio with them,’ or, ‘I wish I was on tour with them.’ All those things that they’re doing, I’d like to do and it probably won’t be on the same level, at least for now. I wouldn’t ever be averse to getting together to do a few songs or a show together one time, or something like that, especially if there was a cause we all believed in. That would be great.”

So while Page is not ruling out some form of reunion- whether it’s for a single performance or new album of material- it’s not looking like he’s abandoning his solo career anytime soon. The band minus Page comes back around here for a concert in Springfield, Mass. for a show at Springfield Symphony Hall (click here to find tickets).
