The former American Idol winner and Most Beautiful Woman in Country Music would love to have kids someday, but just isn’t ready for it right now.

Underwood told OK! this week in an interview that having kids right now “would be a bad idea” because of her and her husband’s busy schedule.

Her husband, hockey player Mike Fisher of the Nashville Predators, has a crazy, hectic schedule just like she does. NHL players are constantly traveling, having to endure an 82-game regular season schedule over the course of 6 months.

“My husband’s hockey schedule is absolutely insane.”

Ok. So next year is out of the question. But when Carrie WHEN?!

2013 isn’t look too good either apparently…

“I think 2013 is probably going to end up being pretty busy as well. We’re not ready. We’re enjoying each other and spending time with each other and just having fun and being silly.”

I think it’s smart of Underwood and Fisher to be patient about having children. What’s the rush? They should enjoy each other’s company while they’re still young and when they’re ready to have kids they’ll have kids.
