Over 10 years ago rapper [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Eminem[/lastfm] helped catapult Dido’s career, who was a relative unknown at the time, by sampling her song on his “Stan” track off The Marshall Mathers LP album.
When [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Dido[/lastfm] had a baby this past summer, she decided to name him…what else? Stan!
The 40-year-old singer made the announcement on Christmas weekend that she and her husband, writer Rohan Gavin, gave birth to a baby boy back in July.
(No word on what took so long…)
On Christmas Eve at 7:28 am, she wrote on her Facebook page:
“I wanted to wish you all a very happy christmas. I’m ridiculously excited about stanley’s first christmas this year! 
Hope you all have a brilliant one and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in 2012… Love, didoxx”
Dido also famously starred as the pregnant girlfriend in the music video for “Stan.” The “Thank You” singer did not indicate whether or not she and her husband named the baby boy after the song.
