I was peeved when I read the story this morning about Dustin Hoffman being a hero. It’s not his fault..he didn’t call himself one. Here’s what happened. Dustin was taking a stroll in a London park when he saw a jogger collapse after foaming at the mouth. So, he called paramedics and stayed with the guy til they got there. That’s just doing the right thing. It’s being a decent human being-not a hero. To me, a hero is someone who puts his or her life on the line for others.
Let’s reserve that term for our Military, Police Officers and Firefighters. Don’t dilute that word on someone who did-what I’d hope anyone would do-for another human being who needed help. He made a phone call.
