Fresh off his American Idol win, Phillip Phillips found a few moments to call into the Mix afternoon show with Gregg Daniels, Fast Freddy, and Sue Brady to bring us all up to date on life after Idol.
“It’s crazy dude, I feel so blessed to have this all happen,” said Phillips.
He agrees with Gregg Daniels and many, many others that his new song Home has a certain Mumford and Sons ring to it.
“I’m ready to get my own stuff out as well,” Phillips tells Daniels, “It’s gonna be a little more rock, so I’m excited.”
As to when we should expect the first album, Phillips anticipates it will be ready in November of 2012.
As for his health, “I’m surviving, I’m still alive right now,” quipped Phillips during the interview. “I’m hurting a little bit and everything, but I’m hopefully getting my surgery done really, really soon.”
The Idol winner doesn’t think that his surgery schedule should affect the American Idol tour, saying he will be 100% by the time the summer shows kick off.
Phillip Phillips and the rest of the American Idol tour swings through the Boston area August 18th in Manchester, NH and August 19th over in Worcester.
