I am so glad the Brits aren’t taking themselves too seriously, as the 2012 Summer Olympics open in London tonight. Of course, there’s a certain degree of pomp and unfortunate circumstance that comes with any Olympic Ceremony, but I definitely appreciated the Chariots of Fire skit with Rowan Atkinson.

The element of surprise is what really makes this work, so forget that I’ve telegraphed the humorous nature of this piece and imagine yourself watching live.
