Another year has passed and another MixFest is right around the corner! Next month at the DCR Hatch Shell, Train, Gavin DeGraw & Andy Grammer will play a free concert right on the beautiful Esplanade for thousands of Mix listeners!

To help get you prepared for the special occasion, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and relive MixFest 2011!

Kicking off the show was Javier Colon, fresh off his winning campaign on the first season of The Voice. Just before he took the stage he talked with Gregg Daniels and Karson about when he lived in Boston, being a native New Englander and his newfound fame.

Then came Sara Bareilles, the soulful pop singer with hits such as “Love Song” and “King Of Anything.” Karson & Kennedy interviewed Bareilles, who may or may not have predicted the coming of holograms in music. Don’t believe us? Check out the video below…

Fourth up were Vermont natives Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Grace spoke with Gregg Daniels and Fast Freddy before taking center stage about her plans to raise money for Vermont, just weeks after Hurricane Irene devastated much of the state.

And last but certainly not least: Lifehouse. The California natives were the nightcap, serenading the Boston crowd as the night sky poured over the Hatch Shell with their catalog of hits. Check out this fan video of their “You And Me” performance…
