Continuing their brief summer tour in anticipation of their new album Babel, Mumford & Sons played the Providence Performing Arts Center to a packed crowd that danced and clapped along to favorites like “The Cave” and plenty of new material.
The band appeared to hang their own lights for the stage in addition to the old-fashioned lamps dimly illuminating the venue, a perfect setting for the music of a folk band like Mumford & Sons and opening act Dawes.
Gorgeous Instagram photos from @elliesuchamannnn, @x12sammie704x and @katehomlish only make the setup look better.

For a couple of fans, the most notable aspect of the band is and was Marcus Mumford’s heartfelt, poetic lyrics, which are even better to hear in a live setting.
Mumford & Sons did not disappoint...Going to bed with lots & lots of beautiful lyrics running through my head.

Absolutely amazing night- for the record, you haven't heard Mumford & Sons until you've heard them live, still have chills. Lyrical genius

As for the rest of the reactions on Twitter, many fans had trouble even composing themselves expressing excitement over the show, which some said may have been the best in the history of the planet.
