No Doubt are not only unafraid of remixes, but the foursome from Anaheim have reached out to top name producers to rethink the band’s first single, “Settle Down.”
The first remix released was masterminded by Major Lazer, who also served as producer during the Push And Shove album recording sessions. Lazer’s re-imagining takes the single in a tribal direction with sparse beats and deleted vocal tracks.
Most recently, Lazer has been working with rapper Snoop Dogg, now known as Snoop Lion, in an effort to turn the rapper into a legitimate reggae sensation. Snoop’s first release under the Lion sir name is whimsically titled “La La La.”
No Doubt plans to release a series of remixes in advance of the album Push And Shove which hits stores available September 25.
