The Script, an Irish group formerly known as the band MyTown, formed in Dublin in 2001. Lead singer and frontman Danny O’Donoghue first met guitarist Mark Sheehan at a club in Dublin near the Guinness brewery.
The two coasted through various projects in the mid to late 1990′s with varying degrees of success before recruiting drummer Glen Power to round out the band. The duo became a trio and The Script became an official group in 2001.
After being signed by the Sony Music Entertainment group, The Script released their eponymous debut album in August 2008. Carried by the popularity of their hit singles “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” and “Breakeven,” The Script album debuted at #1 in Ireland and in the U.K.
The Dublin trio then released Science & Faith in 2010, which sold over 1 million albums worldwide. 2012 saw the release of their third studio album, appropriately titled #3. The album was preceded by the release of the single “Hall of Fame,” which features will.i.am formerly of the Black Eyed Peas, currently on hiatus.
