Kelly Clarkson and boyfriend Brandon Blackstock announced their engagement over the holidays and she’s telling fans not to worry about her getting soft after marriage.

Kelly told Nashville newspaper The Tennessean, “I keep running into fans, and they’re like, ‘Please stay feisty.’  And I’m like, ‘You don’t get married and change.’”

Kelly is looking forward to the evolution and gaining a fresh new perspective, telling the paper, “It’s kind of exciting just to see what will come out of me that’s different, because I’ll be in a different place.”

Adding that the unknown is a wild card that doesn’t scare her at all, Kelly said, “I don’t know.  Maybe it’ll suck, but maybe it’ll be awesome.” Kelly reassured fans, “I still love empowering songs, and I still love a feisty, sassy message.  I still love all of that stuff.”

No date yet, but her soon to be mother-in-law, country icon, Reba McEntire (who says she is thrilled to welcome Kelly into the family, by the way) has promised to sing for her special day.
