They say you only get one chance to make a good first impression, and that’s exactly what Alex Preston did as the opening act for MixFest 2013.

We ran a contest here at Mix titled 15 Seconds of Fame “Open For MixFest,” and the winner came via Mont Vernon, New Hampshire: 20-year-old Alex Preston.

Alex’s performance of his song The Light Was Already Here blew the judges away at the finalist showcase at Polcari’s / Regina Pizzeria in Saugus, and on Saturday afternoon he performed an acoustic set in front of thousands on the legendary Hatch Shell stage for MixFest 2013.

When his final song concluded, Alex was gracious and humble, thanking Mix and Matthew Reid for running the contest and having him showcase his talents. He even stuck around for the remainder of the show, stopping to take pictures and chit chat with fans.

This won’t be the last you hear from Alex Preston, we believe he’s destined for big things!
