MixFest 2015: Rob Thomas Wants To Do The Best Show He Can

Rob Thomas isn’t so much a friend of Mix 104.1 as he his family. When we asked him to headline MixFest 2015, he agreed almost on the spot.

He sat down with Gregg Daniels, Fast Freddy, and Amanda Giles before taking the stage on Saturday night at the DCR Hatch Memorial Shell.

“You guys have been so good to me for so long I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it,” Thomas said.

Rob is no stranger to MixFest, having done it a number of years ago with Matchbox Twenty, and it doesn’t feel much different.

“You know, it doesn’t change. It’s funny, the writing the performing, the only thing that’s different is you’re doing it with a different group of people and you’re doing it with different songs. But the job is kind of the same, you want to write a good song, you want to go out and do the best show you can.”

You can watch Gregg, Freddy, and Amanda’s full interview with Rob Thomas including what’s next for the Matchbox Twenty frontman, and how his son enjoyed coming out to MixFest this year. Watch it in the video player above.
