Lady Gaga‘s little monsters are waking up to the best Friday of their lives this morning. Not only has mother monster released her new single “Perfect Illusion,” which you can listen to below, but she also dished out some news about an upcoming duet with Florence Welch, and she showed up on Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton’s Instagram singing some Spice Girls with the girl group legend. And this all happened before noon!
“Me and Florence Welch did a duet together,” Gaga told BBC Radio 1. “I started to work on an idea for a song that I really wanted to do with a girl. You’ll see why when you see what the song is about.”
Gaga didn’t want to sing it with just any girl. The singer/songwriter reserved the track for Florence because to her, she may be the best vocalist in the world. “I just thought, ‘Who do I want to sing with?'” Gaga explained. “She’s [Florence Welch] really to me, if not the best, one of the greatest vocalists in the world. She’s incredible.”
Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait to hear the duet. But in the meantime, we can watch Gaga and Emma Bunton, AKA “Baby Spice” from the Spice Girls sing “2 Become 1” on repeat.
