Is “It Wasn’t Me” Autobiographical? Hear Shaggy’s Answer!

Last week, Karson and Salt caught up with Mixfest artist Ingrid Michaelson, who admitted to being super into her co-headliner, Shaggy‘s “Mr. Boombastic” back in junior high. So when he complimented her on her new single, “Hell No,” she admitted to being “a little bit starstruck.” To hear her full interview with the morning show, click here.

Initially, Shaggy didn’t believe that Ingrid fangirled over him, but when Karson and Salt said they had audio evidence, the singer quickly credited her admiration to his “bad boy image from before.” “That whole ‘lover lover’ thing, I don’t know,” he humbly added.

For those who still see Shaggy as “Mr. Boombastic,” don’t worry. He confirmed that he’s still “Mr. Lover Lover,” but he did admit that he’s “a little bit more contained these days.” He also answered whether “It Wasn’t Me” is autobiographical.
