Charlie Puth Credits Paul Walker’s Spirit For “We Don’t Talk Anymore” Success

By: Eric Donnelly

Apparently Selena Gomez wasn’t the only reason “We Don’t Talk Anymore” was such a hit!

According to Billboard, in a recent interview with Charlie Puth, the singer credits not only the Stars Dance visionary as a reason for his song’s success, but also Paul Walker’s spirit. “It’s truly incredible. It entered the top 10 on Paul Walker’s birthday. I do believe that’s a bit of his work from above.”

The “One Call Away” singer originally debuted on the Hot 100 with his feature on Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again.” That song “was from the film Furious 7, and inspired by the death of the film’s co-star, Paul Walker.” Another fun fact — “See You Again” is also the “longest-reigning rap No. 1 in the Hot 100’s history.”

Puth knew the song would be a success from the start and Selena was antsy to get on board. “She was so excited to be a part of it that she took a flight to my place that evening just to record it.”

They’re a match made in heaven!
