Catherine Hicks Would Be Open to a ‘7th Heaven’ Reboot If Reverend Eric Camden Died

by Alisha Jackson

We’re living in a reboot era where anything is possible. Family shows like Girl Meets World and Fuller House have successfully reunited their original casts in order to create “next generation” shows. And Gilmore Girls, whose creator left the series six seasons in, is finally getting the ending that Amy Sherman-Palladino intended for ten years ago.

Unfortunately, there are some circumstances that just can’t be worked around in order to reunite a cast, like when your main protagonist admits to sexually abusing minors. Stephen Collins, AKA 7th Heaven’s Reverand Eric Camden ruined any chances of him reprising his religious role when his scandalous past went public in 2014, but that doesn’t mean that Annie can’t carry on running the household without her hubby.

When TMZ caught up with Catherine Hicks, she revealed that she remains close with her former television family, and would be open to doing a reboot on one condition.

“We’d have to open with Stephen’s coffin,” the actress joked. “8th Heaven with a new boyfriend for Annie,” she added later on. Watch her hilarious encounter with TMZ below.
