Finally, a diner where the owner won’t look at you funny for saying “coffee, coffee, coffee!”
Netflix has announced that on October 5th, 250 coffee shops across America will be transformed into Stars Hollow’s iconic tourist destination, Luke’s Diner. Why October 5th? Prepare to feel old — it will be the 16th anniversary of the Gilmore Girls pilot episode!
According to the streaming service (via Eater), the pop-up diners will serve free coffee between 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM, which will have a “fun surprise” under their custom Gilmore Girls sleeves. The diners will also sell Luke’s Diner-branded aprons and t-shirts, while supplies last.
Those who live in Massachusetts can either visit Brighton’s Cafenation at 380 Washington St. or Lynn’s Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee at 61 Munroe St. The cafes will probably look something like Netflix’s setup from VidCon 2016.
Looks like #GilmoreGirls is one of Netflix's shows that they're showing off today at #VidCon! According to Vid Con's website this is the Netflix Lounge where you can pose with the #PaintedLadies from #FullHouse/ #FullerHouse, revisit #LukesDiner from Gilmore Girls, get your nails painted inspired by #UnBreakableKimmySchmidt, etc.! Sounds like loads of fun!📸credit to @ShannonOConnor0 on Twitter! Supposedly, according to Shannon, Netflix is rotating out a few of their upcoming and current shows at this booth and lucky for us, #GilmoreGirls or #GilmoreGirlsAYearinTheLive is one of them! Make sure you arrive to your local Luke’s Diner early, because as I learned from attending the Gilmore Guys live podcast at The Wilbur, Boston is passionate about their Gilmore Girls!
