Zac Efron may have turned 29 yesterday, but he’ll always be a teenage Wildcat in our hearts.
Can you believe it’s been ten years since High School Musical first premiered on the Disney Channel?! Unfortunately, Zac has had his fair share of ups and downs over the decade, and on his birthday, his former costars wanted him to know that they’re still all in this together.
Monique Coleman, who played Zac’s bestie’s love interest, Taylor McKessie, kicked off the social birthday festivities by posting a throwback pic of her and the birthday boy on set to Instagram. “Happy Birthday Zac Efron,” her caption read. “✨🎉I’m always proud of you, always rooting for you & eternally grateful for all the memories. I hope your last 20 is your best yet! Xx”
Ashley Tisdale joined in on the throwback fun, and wished Zac a happy birthday by posting her own photo from the movie set to Twitter. “Happy birthday buddy!” her tweet read. “You will always be the Troy to my Sharpay.❤ you brother!"
Zac sweetly replied with “and you’ll ALWAYS be my Ashley.”
Neither Lucas Grabeel nor Corbin Bleu found the time to shout out their bestie on social media, but they did get together with Zac about two weeks ago to see Bleu on Broadway.
Zac’s ex-girlfriend and costar Vanessa Hudgens didn’t acknowledge his birthday online, but that didn’t get him down. “Thank you for all the birthday love today!” Zac shared on his social media accounts. “You’ve got me feelin’ blessed. I’m a lucky guy- Grateful for all of you.”
