Hilary Duff Apologizes For Controversial Couples Halloween Costume

by Alisha Jackson

Fans weren’t too thankful for Hilary Duff and boyfriend Jason Walsh‘s costumes over the weekend.

On Friday night, Hilary revealed that she was going as a pilgrim for Halloween when she posted a photo of a slightly-too-small fake gun she had ordered for her costume.

Sooooo the fake gun for my pilgrim costume came. Don't think it's quite big enough 😳😂

Fans didn’t think twice about Hilary’s costume, until her boyfriend Jason Walsh revealed his.

The couple made the rookie mistake of dressing up as a culture for Halloween, and ended up unintentionally offending a lot of people in the process.

Hilary and Jason heard the complaints loud and clear, and took to social media to apologize for their offensive actions.

“I am SO sorry to people I offended with my costume,” Hilary wrote on Twitter. “It was not properly thought through and I am truly, from the bottom of my ❤️sorry.”

“I meant no disrespect,” Jason wrote on Instagram. “I only have admiration for the indigenous people of America. In hindsight I would not have made that decision. I apologize to anyone I may have offended.”

Hilary wasn’t the only pilgrim at the party. Her friend Alisa Libel showed up in the same sexy costume, but it seems as though she was spared the shame.

Do you find Hilary and Jason’s costumes offensive?
