The 2016 Presidential Election may have ended, but the support for Hillary Clinton hasn’t.
The top two trends on Twitter for the United States this morning both focus on President Trump, but not necessarily in a good way. 200,000 Twitter users are using the number one trend, “#NotMyPresident,” which clearly speaks against the President elect. The number two trend, “President Trump,” sounds like it’s in Trump’s favor, but not everyone is mentioning his win in a positive light. “#ImStillWithHer” comes in at number eight, with 30,000 people in the United States still pledging their allegiance to Clinton this morning.
Lady Gaga didn’t use any of the aforementioned trends this morning, but if she did, her tweet would probably read “President Trump is #NotMyPresident. #ImStillWithHer.”
While you were sleeping, the singer/songwriter continued to show her undying support for Clinton by staging a protest outside of New York City’s Trump Tower this morning. In the photo below, Gaga can be seen holding a “Love trumps hate” sign while standing on a sanitation truck.
“🇺🇸❤️I want to live in a #CountryOfKindness #LoveTrumpsHate He divided us so carelessly. Let’s take care now of each other,” her caption reads.
When it became clear that Trump was going to become our next President, Lady Gaga took to Twitter to share a message of hope.
“In a room full of hope, we will be heard. @deray #blacklivesmatter Stand up for kindness, equality, and love. ❤️🇺🇸 Nothing will stop us.”
As of 9:00 AM EST (November 9), Lady Gaga changed her name on Twitter from #VoteHillary to #CountryOfKindness.
