Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello has quit the group. The remaining four members revealed the news late Sunday night (Dec. 18) via social media in a note signed by Ally, Normani, Dinah and Lauren.

“After four and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well,” they wrote.

The news follows the success of Cabello’s two recent collaborations. Her 2015 duet with Shawn Mendes, “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” became a Top 20 hit last year, and her feature on Machine Gun Kelly’s single “Bad Things,” reached No. 10 on the Hot 100 last week, according to Billboard.

“I think it’s exciting, I’m so blessed to have the opportunity to dive into different projects and show the world completely different sides of me,” Cabello recently told Radio.com. “In Fifth Harmony, I’m one side of myself, with ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ [her duet with Shawn Mendes] I was another side of myself and here [with Machine Gun Kelly’s “Bad Things”], I’m another side of myself. I learn more about myself when I dive into other projects. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to do that.”

Fifth Harmony will continue as a quartet without Cabello.
