MixFest 2015 FAQ

When is MixFest?
MixFest will be held at the DCR Hatch Memorial Shell on Saturday, September 19, 2015.

How much to get in?
MixFest is FREE!

What time should we get there?
Gates will be opening at 11:00 AM on September 19, 2015. We strongly encourage you to get there as close to 11:00 AM as possible, because capacity is limited and entrance into the event will be closed once capacity is reached. Who is playing MixFest 2015?
Rob Thomas, Third Eye Blind, Andy Grammer, Vance Joy, Rachel Platten, and our own local “15 Seconds of Fame” winner, Emily Desmond will open the show. Music will start around 1:45pm and end by 6pm. The order of acts will be: Emily Desmond, Rachel Platten, Vance Joy, Andy Grammer, Third Eye Blind, and Rob Thomas.

How do we get there?
We strongly advise you take public transportation. The Red Line and the Green Line provide the closest T stops to the DCR Hatch Shell, we recommend using the Copley stop on the Green Line. Click here for full MBTA Schedule.

You can access the event from The Blossom Street Footbridge over Storrow Drive or on street crossing at Leverett Circle/Science Park. Walk west along Storrow Drive with the Charles River on your right and the Hatch Shell is a short walk from here. You may also access MixFest from the Dartmouth Street Footbridge over Storrow Drive.

There will be 2 entrances into MixFest. One will be near the Dartmouth Street Footbridge and the other near Community Boating. Concertgoers should allow extra time for entrance into the event as everyone will be required to pass security checkpoints at the entrances. All bags will be subject to a discretionary search.

Where can I park?
There will be no parking allowed on Storrow Drive. If you are driving to the concert, we recommend parking at Boston Common Garage or the LAZ parking lot at Mass Eye & Ear.

Is there handicapped parking on Storrow Drive?
No, there will not be handicapped parking on Storrow Drive. However, there is a handicapped-only drop-off site on Storrow Drive, near the Community Boat House. Handicapped individuals can be dropped off here. Cars will then need to be parked off site.

Can I bring a bag?
Backpacks, large bags, and coolers are NOT allowed. Small bags and blankets (smaller than 10×10) are fine. Only sealed, plastic water bottles will be allowed into the venue. No glass containers, cans, alcoholic beverages or pre-mixed beverages are allowed. Food and snacks are allowed. All bags will be subject to a discretionary search.

Can I bring my camera?
Of course! It’s an outdoor park, cameras are acceptable.

What about inclement weather?
MixFest will be held rain or shine.

Can we bring beer and grills?
No. No alcohol or grilling is permitted at the DCR Hatch Shell. No coolers will be allowed either. Only sealed, plastic water bottles will be allowed into the venue.

Purchase a burger at the Charles River Bistro at MixFest and $1 will be donated to The Greater Boston Food Bank!
