It’s no secret that Green Day is in the studio, but speculation has been mounting about what the trio have been creating. Will their new album return to their fast paced punk rock Dookie, another American Idiot rock opera, or neither?

As it turns out, Billie Joe, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool are hard at work creating a three album trilogy titled ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré!

“What a way to start off the decade, with three albums.”

The 3-disc collection has already been assigned street dates of, Tuesday, September 25th, Tuesday, November 13th and Tuesday, January 15th 2013 respectively. Yes, fans will have to wait two months between each release.

The band believes they can top their Grammy® Award-winning 21st Century Breakdown.

“We are at the most prolific and creative time in our lives. This is the best music we’ve ever written, and the songs just keep coming,” said the members of Green Day.

“Instead of making one album, we are making a three album trilogy. Every song has the power and energy that represents Green Day on all emotional levels. We just can’t help ourselves… We are going epic as f***!”

Green Day will play a select few festivals this summer in Japan and Europe.

Florence Welch & Co. also recently recorded a brand new song called “Breath of Life” for the Snow White and the Huntsman movie soundtrack.

“There will be a new song, probably coming out at the end of the year,” she told French radio station NRJ. “But then it depends how quickly I write some other new songs.”

Despite plans to release a new single by the end of 2012, the singer says not to expect a new album for at least two years. When pressed about taking too long to do it, she responded “Yeah, but I have to write it! It takes a while.”

The fact that Adele’s new song isn’t part of a new album by her raises questions of exactly what the single will be. It could be part of a movie soundtrack, a cover, a holiday single, or some combination of those things. With just one song, she has plenty of options.

She added in the interview that she doesn’t worry about measuring up to the massive success of 21 because its achievements rarely happen for any artist with even one of their albums, let alone more.

“I don’t think I’ll ever feel the pressure for my next record to be as big as the last one, because I know that’s just not really possible,” she said.

Though fans have to wait until at least 2014 for a new album from Adele, that doesn’t mean they’re sick of 21 already. The album sits at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart this week, topped only by the Hunger Games soundtrack, and has spent a whopping 57 total weeks on the chart.

Even before the ACM’s start, Taylor will already have one award under her belt this weekend when the First Lady, Michelle Obama, present Taylor with ‘The Big Help’ award at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday. While she was in Vegas getting ready for the ACM’s, Taylor told Y108′s Stoney Richards that she’s never met the First Lady before and that she’s nervous, but so excited. “When I found that out, I had to just take a minute and just think about how lucky I feel, getting to meet the First Lady. Having her even…know who I am. It’s amazing.”

Taylor is a 2010 ACM Entertainer of the Year winner and she’s up for that title again this year. “It’s fan voted so you never know what’s gonna happen,” Taylor said. “If people go an vote, two thumbs up, then maybe, maybe we have a shot.”

Entertainer of the Year isn’t the only influence fans have had over her career and music. Taylor said that she is surprised at her number one hit ‘Ours’. She didn’t expect it to be what it was, “the story on that song…it wasn’t even originally on ‘Speak Now’, it was a bonus track, just like an exclusive bonus track you could only get in certain places and the fans liked it so much that it became a single.

Taylor’s not one to rest it seems, she recently voiced a character in the movie ‘Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax’ and she also has a couple songs on the Hunger Games soundtrack, including one in which she teamed up with ‘The Civil Wars’. “They’re fantastic and they have a song on the Hunger Games soundtrack that’s really good. You should check out that soundtrack. If you like ‘Civil Wars’, there’s a lot good like Americana cool stuff on there.”

Perez reported, “Katy Perry has been hanging out with this hot model dude named Baptiste. According to reports, he is moving to Los Angeles or considering a move to be closer to Katy and to help focus on his music career, because he’s a model and he also wants to be a musician.”

Over the weekend, Baptiste tweeted a photo of him and Katy holding each other, which added more fuel to the fire.

Considering her recent break-up with Russell Brand and all of the talk about his cheating ways, it’s not surprising that she’s protecting herself from the public. It made it even worse when Katy’s best friend, jewelry designer Markus Molinari, tweeted directly towards Russell about cheating on Wednesday.

She actually drew inspiration for the new single from not the title character, but the evil Queen, who Charlize Theron portrays in the new movie.

“The Queen is just this incredible character; so hungry for life but so dead inside. She’s sort of eternal, but inside there’s nothing,” she told MTV News.

She continued that the Queen character has a “thirst for youth and for life, but for what kind of life? This darkness, but she’s so beautiful, so it’s this kind of juxtaposition between beauty and, ultimately, death.”

Meanwhile, the U.K. sensation will help light the Olympic torch this summer as well as perform at a series of concerts leading up to the start of the Olympics. The Olympic Torch Relay Finale concert will be held in Hyde Park and will feature a set by The Wanted as well as additional performances by Dizzee Rascal, You Me At Six, Eliza Doolittle, Mark Ronson and Katy B.

On Tuesday, April 3 The Wanted’s next single off their self-titled EP will be released. Titled “Lightning,” the sing-along chorus includes the lyrics: “I know that it’s a little bit frightening, we might as well be playing with lightning.”

Two days later, the band will take the stage at American Idol. Max George expressed his excitement recently on Twitter.

Perri also shared the story of how she ended up writing the hit song “A Thousand Years” for the Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1 soundtrack. The movie studio initially approached her manager to offer a special screening of the film.

Perri says she responded to the invitation with “some squeal noise that I’ve never made again.”

After the screening, during which Perri said she cried the whole time, she immediately went home and wrote the song “A Thousand Years”. Four months later she received one of the most important phone calls of her career.

“They said to me, ‘We’ve chosen you for the soundtrack, we’ve chosen you for the single, you’re going to make a music video with clips from the movie, and you are going to go on tour with the cast. Is that cool?’ I died. I pretty sure I’m in life number 8 right now.”

Even with all her love and involvement with the Twilight saga, Christina said she has yet to meet star Robert Pattinson, but not because she hasn’t had the opportunity. Having been in the same room with the star a few times, she was always too nervous to approach him. Like many ladies on Team Edward, Perri feels, “I’m too in love with Edward Cullen to really meet Robert Pattinson.”

Bassist Ted Dwane recently told Rolling Stone that their highly anticipated follow-up to Sigh No More would sound like “Black Sabbath meets Nick Drake,” which essentially means it would be full of doom & gloom – hence “doom folk.”

The interviewer apparently took Dwane’s comments too literally. Frontman Marcus Mumford spoke on those remarks, explaining it was just a misunderstanding.

“That was a joke to an American journalist who didn’t understand the concept of sarcasm. I called Ted and was like, ‘Ted, what have you done? We spent our whole first album trying to avoid being pigeonholed!’” he told NME.

Mumford continued that the new album would signify “evolution, not revolution” of the band, meaning fans should not expect any sort of drastic change to their sound but rather some expansion and forward progression. He also said the recording process took longer than expected and only their manager has heard it.

“We don’t want to put that added pressure on ourselves,” Mumford added on the outside pressure the band faces to deliver a strong follow-up to their surprise hit debut album.

The band have already begun debuting new songs from the still-untitled album. They performed the potentially single-worthy “Ghosts That We Knew” at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, and if that song is any indication, the new album will feature all the same things that made fans love Mumford & Sons in the first place.
